1. Focus and Scope
The Revista Pedagógica's focus and scope are the dissemination of unpublished works by professors, researchers, and postgraduate students from national and international institutions in the area of Education. It preferentially covers topics such as teacher training within the scope of human development and social and cultural relations, investigating their interfaces with the curriculum, educational policies, history of education, pedagogical practices, school daily life, diversity, interculturality, and inclusive education in basic and higher education.

2. History
The Revista Pedagógica originated in 1998, linked to the Department of Educational Sciences at Unochapecó, to establish itself as a critical space for reflection and investigation on education and its relations with the various spheres of society. In 2012, it began to be managed by the PPGE. Its first three editions were composed of works by professors linked to the institution; however, to broaden its reach and avoid insularity, it started publishing articles from collaborators at other educational institutions (national and international). Until its twentieth issue (Jan./Jun. 2008), under ISSN 1415-8175, it circulated in a printed version, being exchanged with approximately 90 higher education institutions. Starting from the second half of 2008, it began to be published in electronic format under ISSN 1984-1566. In 2019, despite the tradition of quarterly publications, following editorial trends and aiming for greater agility in the process, it adopted continuous publishing, increasing the number of articles published per year and reducing the waiting time between submission and publication. Articles are received annually from different regions of the country, Latin America, North America, and, in smaller numbers, Africa, Central America, and Europe. These data demonstrate that throughout its existence, Pedagógica has gained prestige and recognition, especially at the national level, so much so that, according to the Qualis-CAPES evaluation, it is in the A4 stratum, and regarding the journal’s impact factor, its h5 index is 16.

5. Editorial Policy
Open Access:
The Revista Pedagógica offers free, immediate, and unrestricted access to its content in electronic format made available online on its page and on the indexers' pages. It allows open access to articles, essays, reviews, and interviews, but does not authorize any commercialization and/or alteration of the data. The free access extends to the submission, evaluation, editing, and publication of the works by the authors. Authors retain copyrights and grant the Journal the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under Creative Commons – Atribuição – Não Comercial 4.0 Internacional.

Archiving: Each year, the generation of digital documents and data is increasing, consequently, the management, preservation, and long-term access of these documents becomes extremely necessary to preserve both their historical and evidential value and their accessibility to future generations. The Revista Pedagógica, sharing the same concern, uses LOCKSS – Lost Of Copies Keep Stuff Safe, from Stanford University (USA), for the preservation of original permanent digital content and as a guarantee of long-term access. By being a community of several distributed preservation services operating on the software (Cariniana Network), this allows digital information to remain accessible, interpretable, and authentic.

Peer Review: The Revista Pedagógica adopts a double-blind peer review system, and follows the guidelines of the Code of Conduct and Best Practice of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). For knowledge of the Code, consult the original text in English or its translation in Portuguese. All submissions that meet the journal's standards will be initially analyzed by the editors, who will assess possible authorship issues (such as plagiarism, republication, etc.). Cases of possible misconduct will be analyzed based on COPE guidelines. The ad hoc reviewers are chosen based on their expertise in the area of Education and come from various regions of Brazil, as well as from foreign institutions. The average time for evaluation is 120 days.
