Author Guidelines

Article Submission

• Register on the RGO website by creating a username and password.
• Log in to the system and select the AUTHOR role.
• Click “Click here to start the submission process.”
• Follow the steps provided by the system and upload your file in Microsoft Word format.
• Once the submission has been completed, the corresponding author will be able to track the review process using their username and password.
• All authors must be registered on the journal’s website and keep their registration information up to date.
• Authors holding a master’s or doctoral degree must also register as reviewers.

General Submission Requirements

RGO adopts a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process.

The file must be submitted to RGO in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), with all author-identifying information removed from both the document and the Word file properties. Throughout the entire editorial process—from submission to publication—the authorship of the article is information restricted to the RGO Editors.

All authors must be registered on the RGO website, with their personal information properly entered in the submission metadata. Authors holding a master’s or doctoral degree must also register as reviewers.

Articles and essays may have no more than five (5) authors, at least one of whom must hold a doctoral degree.

Texts may be submitted in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.

Texts must follow the standards of the American Psychological Association (APA). In-text citations must comply with APA standards, as illustrated below:

• One author: outside parentheses, Author (2021); inside parentheses, (Author, 2021).
• Two authors: outside parentheses, Author and Author (2021); inside parentheses, (Author & Author, 2021).
• Three to five authors: in the first citation, outside parentheses, Author, Author, and Author (2021); inside parentheses, (Author, Author, & Author, 2021). In subsequent citations, outside parentheses, Author et al. (2021); inside parentheses, (Author et al., 2021).
• Six or more authors: outside parentheses, Author et al. (2021); inside parentheses, (Author et al., 2021).

References must follow APA standards and be listed in alphabetical order.

Texts must be submitted through the OJS platform.

Texts must be prepared using Microsoft Word for Windows, according to the following formatting requirements:

• Margins: 3 cm for the left and top margins and 2 cm for the right and bottom margins.
• Spacing: single spacing throughout the text and 1.5-line spacing for headings. Leave one blank single-spaced line between the text and the following heading.
• Font: Calibri, 12 pt for the main text and 10 pt for titles and illustration sources.
• Page format: A4 paper, 1.25 cm first-line paragraph indentation, and page numbers in the upper-right corner.

Articles and essays must be between 10 and 20 pages long.

The first page must contain:

a) The title in Portuguese and English, clearly and objectively expressing the main idea of the study.

b) An abstract in Portuguese and the corresponding abstract in English, each containing no more than 250 words. Abbreviations, acronyms, symbols, and citations must not be used. The abstract must concisely present the following structure: objective, method and/or approach, main findings, theoretical, practical, and/or social contributions, and the originality and/or relevance of the study.

c) Three to five keywords that best represent the subject of the article, in Portuguese and English, separated by periods.

Tables and figures must be numbered and placed within the body of the text, rather than at the end of the document.

The use of footnotes should be avoided.

The article must be unpublished in Brazil or any other country. A preliminary version previously published in the proceedings of a national or international scientific event will not be considered a breach of originality. When the article has been published in conference proceedings, this information must be included in the submission metadata.

A maximum of two articles per author may be published each year, regardless of authorship position.

Authors are responsible for the costs of language editing or translation when such services are requested.

The authors are responsible for the language revision and content of their texts.

RGO does not publish bibliometric articles.

The content of submitted articles is the sole and exclusive responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily reflect the ideas, opinions, and/or views of the journal’s Editors. The authors are also solely and exclusively responsible for the accuracy of the information provided, authorship—including the list and order of authors—and the accuracy, appropriateness, provenance, and validity of citations. Authors further acknowledge that they may be held civilly and criminally liable for any claims concerning the content, any breach of privacy or publication policies, or any instance of plagiarism.
