The Camocim town, located on the west coast of the state of Ceará, has lentic ecosystems in the urban and non-urbanized regions. The practice of sports activities is common in several of them, both by residents and tourists. The present work aimed to evaluate the concentration of solids and the density of heterotrophic cultivable bacteria in two lentic environments in urbanized areas (Democrata Lagoon and Tierre Lagoon) and two non-urbanized areas (Boqueirão Lake and Aborrecido Green Lagoon) of Camocim. Total solids, Total fixed solids, total volatile solids, total dissolved solids, and heterotrophic bacteria counts were performed for all environments evaluated. The results show that lentic environments in urbanized regions have higher values of all solids fractions and heterotrophic bacteria density in contrast to environments in non-urbanized regions, with a positive correlation between solids values and heterotrophic bacteria, except for total volatile solids. The concentrations of total solids in urbanized areas are above the limits recommended by the CONAMA resolution 357/2005, disabling these environments for diverse uses, including recreational activities. It is suggested that these variations are related to the input of allochthonous components due to anthropic activities in urbanized environments.
