The concept of business strategy has developed over the years. In this context, dynamic capabilities (CDs) have an important role in the corporate world in the face of rapid changing environments, caused by crisis, disasters and market uncertainties. In view of this, with the discovery of the SARS-Cov-2 respiratory syndrome, in 2020 the pandemic of COVID-19 arises, affecting the global economy and creating a scenario of uncertainty for organizations. Thus, this article aims to verify the contribution of dynamic capabilities to strategies for coping with the crisis in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. For this, the research is characterized as descriptive and qualitative, with multiple case studies in companies in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul. The study presents the actions of companies to face the crisis in the face of the pandemic and relates to the micro-foundations proposed by Teece (2007) that support dynamic capabilities: sensing, seizing and reconfiguring. Finally, the results show that C1q2Ds tend to contribute in this context.
