Abstract

Knowledge of the importance of natural resources in guaranteeing quality of life is extremely important for their rational use. And one of the ways to disseminate this information is to discuss the topic in the school environment. In this study, it was evaluated how is the approach about natural resources in schools. Questionnaires were applied to students, teachers and school managers from nine public schools in Campo Grande (MS). It was observed that students did not showed sufficient knowledge about natural resources. In general, teachers do not engage differentiated works and activities about natural resources. In regarding of environmental management practices in school, it was mentioned vegetable gardens, garbage collection and recycling. Finally, natural resources theme was rarely addressed in observed schools, it sounds curious, because this theme has a huge social relevance.
